PREPAREDNESS FOR ALL POTENTIAL CATASTROPHIC HEALTH EVENTS_x000D_
Twelve days into the mission:_x000D_
_x000D_
As the Senior Level Logistics Operations Officer (medical assets included), assume that your current condition has an operating capability like that of Michigan. Twelve days into the mission, about 90% of needed supplies are secure and being delivered to the U.S. Forces in and around BIAP._x000D_
_x000D_
You must use your prior MEDDRUN knowledge and experience to bridge the current gaps in your supply line, specifically the medically related._x000D_
_x000D_
U.S. Army air assets have been flying virtually non-stop in support of delivering medical supplies and have been ordered by Central Command (CENTCOM) to cease operations for 48 hours following two fatal crashes which destroyed both crews, the helicopters, and 2,000 pounds of necessary medical supplies each. Again, U.S. air assets are unavailable to transport capabilities to the Points of Distribution (PODs), each serving 20,000 people daily in the BIAP area of operations. Unit commanders report that there is minimal violence, demonstrations, or looting, but incidents are expected to soon increase._x000D_
_x000D_
Additionally, you have just been hand-selected by the CENTCOM Commander to work on CENTCOM Staff. You now have 48 hours to report back to Kuwait and simultaneously train your replacement on your current plan._x000D_

Exercise_x000D_
What recommendations would you make to restore the lost transportation capabilities over the next 48 hours?_x000D_
What are your current priorities? What logistical gaps are you trying to bridge based on your MEDDRUN experience? Why?_x000D_
How can you ensure the ability to replace the lost capacity to move nearly 150 tons of medical supplies daily into BIAP?_x000D_
Given your new timeline, what is your plan for handing off your battle-plan to your replacement?_x000D_
